The lorica
hamata is a type of maille armour used
during the Roman Republic and theRoman
Empire up to the 2nd century, when it
was briefly replaced by lorica
segmentata, but then was reintroduced in
the 4th century CE. It was a standard-issue
armour for both primary legionaries and
secondary troops (Auxilia).
Our Chainmail
Lorica Hamata is available in Zinc Plated
Steel or Stainless Steel with leather
border. Links are composed of 16 gauge 8 MM
diameter rings, and butted or riveted.
Overall length is 32" and sized to fit
chest sizes from 40" up to 52".
