New product announcements, product improvements, upgrades, and other business activities.

3/5/10- We're currently working on a
collaborative effort with the film
but we're not going to spill the beans
on everything we're contributing to it just yet. Stay tuned for more
updates.
3/1/10 - 14th Century Splinted Greaves
have been released! Available in Mild Satin or Blackened finish...See our
"Legs" page...
2/21/10 - We've outlined some of the
improvements to our products this past year (as stated below). OK, some
items have increased in price where notable extra labor and/or materials is
involved (see the new version of the Cyprian Lammelar on our "Cuirass" page,
which now includes lamellar pauldrons). We've seen lamellar on other sites
with less rows of Plates and without the pauldrons selling for the same
price.
However, just for for one instance,
let's look at the "Celtic knot Pauldrons". Here are photos of the paudrons
before and after upgrades.

Before
After
There has been no change in price on
these. This is what we're doing, every day.
Want to see more? Just keep coming
back here.
2/19/10 - "Lion's Head" Lorica
Pauldrons have been released! See our "Arms" page.
1/24/2010 - Many armourers have had to
fold due to the recession. Here's what we have done. instead of burying
ourselves by breaking our backs to get a few bucks, we have implemented a
number of upgrades to our line of products. most without any increase in
cost to you. Some countries have become fearful of doing business in the
states as well, due to the economy. We have made it worth while to do
business with us because we are continually asking ourselves "what can we do
to make it better?" sometimes it may cause a delay in crafting as we
implement these improvements, but in the end the customers benefit the most.
Some of these improvments may be small and aesthetic. Some may be
traditional or more historically correct.
A few are listed here:
improved methods of preserving the
leather by applying oils and waterproofing prior to shipment
Application of Steel coatings to
inhibit deterioration prior to shipment
Combination of traditional and
medieval cuirbouille hardening methods for the leather products
heavier duty 3/4" wide straps and
buckles for most of the "arms" applications
antiqued stainless steel ornamentation
for pauldrons, some bracers and cuirasses
continued testing of armour pieces to
assure dependability and durability
Increased use of brass and stainless
steel in rivets and buckles
If you take a look at some of the
newer products, you may be able to pick up on some of the minor tweaks as
well.
More improvements are being applied as
this is being posted.
1/10/2010 - We have finally worked out
an order confirmation system that works well. It will greatly improve
our ability to respond quickly as to order status, turnaround times and any
issues or problems with customer's orders. This has been am ongoing problem
in the past and desperately needed to be addressed. It has been impletmented
as of 1/01/10. Orders that are experiencing undue delays or other problems
are being dealt with as quickly as possible.
The "CII/ A pride of lions" has been
released! check it out on our "Cuirasses" page!
Updated photos of the "Mini-Merc"
pauldrons are now viewable on our "Female armour" page
1/07/2010 - The gorget portion of our
crafting queue has been a little held up due to the wait for the mantle
leather which will be here in the next few days.We know you guys have been
waiting on the cuirbouiolle collared gorgets, so we'll get them turned
around as soon as possible. We are beginning to make up some of these for
stock purposes since they are selling so well. Also, keep your eyes of for
the new cuirass, "centurion II/ a Pride of Lions" which will be out in the
next few days.
12/30/09 - Well, its been a
long, difficult year. With the economy bottoming out and materials
prices going up many armourers have closed down. In spite of these trying
times and moving the business we are happy to announce that we are still
doing ok. Some job assignments are being shuffled around to help with
delegating duties more efficiently.
What we have
done to give you the most for your money is to
enhance and upgrade many facets of our gear with little or no price
increase! These will be posted here shortly.
Our new location is up and running and we have unfortunately been
running a bit behind in our crafting queue. We appreciate the fact that most
of our customers would rather wait for a quality finished product than
receive it in a hurry. You guys have been great! Customers who are oldest in
the queue will be getting the first and foremost attention.
